Studies
Doshisha American Studies is a journal devoted to the
study of any aspects of the United States of America, published
annually
(in March) by the Center for American Studies at Doshisha University.
Manuscripts, either in Japanese or in English, originally written
for this journal and not submitted elsewhere in any form of publication,
are welcome from all scholars of American Studies within and without
Japan (except graduate students).
All manuscripts will be subject to anonymous peer review, and
the Editorial Committee will make its final decision whether the
submitted manuscript is accepted or not.
Manuscripts, along with an application
form, should be sent to the Editorial Committee, Doshisha
American Studies, Center for American Studies, Doshisha University,
Kyoto 602-8580, Japan.

1. Length
(a) Articles and Research Notes
(1) in Japanese -- not more than 20,000 characters including
references, notes and abstracts,
2) in English -- not more
than 8,500 words including references,
notes and abstracts (double-spaced)
b) Book Reviews, Introduction
of Research Materials, etc.
(1) In Japanese -- not more than 12,000 characters,
(2) In English -- not more than 5,000 words (double-spaced)
2. Footnotes should be numbered consecutively and collected at
the end of the manuscript.
3. Deadline: Contact the GSAS office by e-mail for the latest
deadline (usually early October each year). Publication is scheduled
for
March, the
end
of the Japanese academic calendar.
4. Submissions should include TWO hard copies of each manuscript,
along with an abstract, and a copy on a computer diskette (with
your name, and word processing software used). These materials will
not be returned regardless of the Editorial Committee's decisions.

5. The Editorial Committee reserves the right to change the category
of the submitted manuscript, and request changes according to
the Committee's judgment.
6. Submission is contingent upon the author's agreement to make
