| Information for Part-Time
Students (Kamoku-to Rishusei)
Qualifications
Persons who have graduated from colleges and universities, and persons
who are judged by the Graduate School of American Studies to have
academic abilities equivalent to those who graduated from colleges
and universities are eligible to enroll as part-time students.
Application Deadlines
Applications for admission as a part-time student must be submitted
for the Spring Semester on March 23, 24 and 26, 2007 (Friday, Saturday
and Monday), and for the Fall Semester on September 18, 19 and 20,
2007 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).
Application Documents
1. A prescribed form (kamoku-to rishu negai);
2. A certificate of graduation of college or university, and a transcript;
and
3. A color photo (portrait, 3 cm x 2.4 cm)
Application Examinations
There is a written examination (English, 45 minutes) and an interview.
Additional Regulations regarding Part-Time Students
1. When a part-time student is officially admitted to the Master’s
Program of the Graduate School of American Studies, a student may
ask that up to 10 credits of the courses taken and completed as
a part-time student be counted in the credits necessary for completion
of the Master's program.
2. Persons who wish to obtain teaching licenses may not do so as
part-time students. They should seek admission to a degree program
in the Graduate School of American Studies.
